Hello, everyone! I’m Ruby Spencer, a children’s book author with a passion for weaving enchanting tales that inspire and entertain young readers. I am thrilled to be a part of The Riot Institute and share a bit about myself and my latest project with you.
My Journey
I’ve always loved stories. Growing up in a small town surrounded by lush forests, I spent my childhood days exploring nature and letting my imagination run wild. These early adventures fueled my creativity and inspired me to start writing my own stories. After earning a degree in English Literature, I dedicated myself to writing full-time, driven by the desire to create magical worlds for children to enjoy.
Likes and Dislikes
When I’m not writing, I love spending time with my two dogs, Bella and Max, who often serve as my muses. I’m an avid gardener and find great joy in cultivating my own vegetables and flowers. Nature is a big source of inspiration for me, and you’ll often find its influence in my stories.
On the flip side, I’m not a fan of early mornings—I’m much more of a night owl, finding that the quiet of the evening is when my creativity truly flows. I also dislike overly critical environments; I believe in constructive feedback that encourages and nurtures growth rather than stifling it.

I’m incredibly excited to announce my latest book, The Snipper Snap Who Lost His Way. This whimsical tale follows the adventures of Snipper Snap, a curious little creature who embarks on a journey to find his way back home after getting lost in a magical forest. Along the way, he meets a host of colorful characters who help him learn important lessons about friendship, courage, and self-discovery.
The Snipper Snap Who Lost His Way is a heartwarming story that I hope will captivate young readers and their families, sparking imaginations and encouraging a love of reading. The book is filled with beautiful illustrations that bring Snipper Snap’s world to life, making it a delightful experience for readers of all ages.
